Tips to get XP faster in Pokémon Go

Tips to get XP faster in Pokémon Go

Gaining XP and moving to next level is the most important thing in the Pokémon Go! If you're wondering why you are constantly getting low level Pokémon, then your player level must be low. In short XP is everything for this game. On top of that, after every level you need to more XP to reach next level.

Each new Trainer level will also give you a series of items, which become more lucrative the higher your level, unlocking more powerful Pokéballs and more.

If you want to gain XP quickly, then there's a number of smart ways in doing so - including a way to get a staggering 60,000 XP in 30 minutes. So, it's important that you do everything possible to get the maximum XP every time you play.

What are the common XP you get :

There are various common activities that can give you an easy XP. All these are standard XP rate, so if you want to double them, then use your Lucky Egg

Catching Pokémon:

  • Catch a Pokémon with a Curveball - 10 XP
  • Catch a Pokémon with a Nice throw - 10 XP
  • Catch a Pokémon with a Great throw - 50 XP
  • Catch a Pokémon with an Excellent Throw - 100XP
  • Capture any Pokémon - 100XP
  • Catch a new Pokémon - 500XP (+100XP for the above)
Interacting with PokéStops and Gyms:
  • Interacting with a PokéStop - 50XP
  • Winning a Gym training session in your gym - Varies based on CP difference
  • Winning a Gym battle vs one Pokémon - 150XP
  • Winning a Gym battle vs two Pokemon - 250XP
  • Winning a Gym battle vs three Pokémon - 350XP
  • Winning a Gym battle vs four Pokémon - 450XP
  • Winning a Gym battle vs five Pokémon - 550XP...and so on!
Evolving and hatching Pokémon:

  • Hatching a Pokémon - 200XP
  • Evolving a Pokémon - 500XP
  • Evolving a new Pokémon - 500XP (on top of the standard 500XP for evolving)
  • Hatching a new Pokémon - 500XP (on top the standard 200XP for hatching)

What is with the Lucky Egg?

Is it some type of Egg? Do we hatch it? Well, no! It's just an Egg and it is like Incense or Lure module which works for 30 minutes.

It  basically doubles the XP you gain for 30 minutes. So, can this be useful to gain more XP? Of course, all the above mentioned common XP will be doubled if got when the Lucky Egg is active.

How to get maximum XP by using Lucky Egg?

Evolve all Pokémon at once :

The fastest and most effective means of gaining XP is by evolving multiple Pokémon one after another while a Lucky Egg multiplier is active.
While you can evolve any Pokémon within that window to gain 500 XP per evolution - or 1000 XP with the Lucky Egg multiplier - the reason why you go after Pidgeys, Weedles and Caterpies is the amount of Candy required to evolve them is less than other Pokémon - a scant 12 Candy compared to the usual 25 or 50 of other creatures. It also helps that they're very common finds.
Rattata, Eevee or Oddish needs only 25 Candies to evolve.

So, you may be low on Poké Balls but capturing these common Pokémons will get you definite XP gain.

Get all Candies collected for all these Pokémons and Evolve all of them at once. If you prepare this method correctly you can get more than 20,000 XP in 30 minutes. Which is more that enough to at least increase your level by 2.

Use your Incense and Lure module with Lucky Egg :

Imagine if you've consumed Lucky Egg and ready to evolve all the Pokémons you have by above method and on top of that you have Lure Module active along with Incense. I'm sure there will rain of XP over you. So, save all evolving activities and find a Poké Stop where you can hang out for a while and voila! You are good to go!

It should be noted that this method gets less effective over time. If you’re a new player, you’ll end up catching tons of Pokémon that you’ve never had before. Catching a new Pokémon that you’ve never had gives you 500XP instead of 100XP. A level three player with hardly any Pokémon is going to gain a lot more XP than someone who is level 15 and has half of their Pokédex filled up.

Gym Battles:

Gym Battles won't give you much XP. You can get 75 - 150 XP per fight. Moreover, these fights do not last more than a minute. So, if you have high level Pokémons and plenty of supply of Revives then you're good to go!
But yeah, if you are a low level player then this method is not much suitable. In addition to that you need to win the match.

In conclusion, use your best instincts and follow any of the above method suitable for you. Keep Going! Keep Playing!
